Compassion, redemption, and love—don't miss this classic story from #1 New York Times bestselling author Lisa Jackson!

When Chandra Hill is awakened by a cry in the night, she is shocked to discover an abandoned newborn in her barn. She rushes him to the hospital, but as a former pediatrician her instincts have already kicked in. Before she knows it, she's discussing options for the baby with the emergency room doctor, Dallas O'Rourke.

Dallas finds himself bonding instantly with the baby—and with the intriguing woman who brought him in. Though Chandra and Dallas try not to get attached, as days pass without a blood relative coming to claim the baby, it becomes difficult to imagine their lives without the little boy. And when the baby's story becomes national news, the two could realize that all they want is the family they've found.

When Chandra Hill discovers a squalling newborn abandoned in her barn, she’s thrown into a whirlwind of events that revolve around the attractive physician who examines baby John Doe in the hospital and the sudden media scrutiny that sheds light on her controversial past. This audio production of Jackson’s romance is capably narrated by Kate Rudd, who delivers a natural and workmanlike performance. Her delivery boasts a deep-throated sexiness that perfectly serves the novel’s romantic tension and captures the chemistry between the author’s main characters. Additionally, Rudd modifies her pacing and utilizes pauses to render the book’s moments of tension, action, and drama. At times, however, she fails to create distinct voices; most of her male characters sound the same. Still, listeners who enjoy romantic suspense will find this an entertaining production. A Silhouette Paperback.
